Two Hezbollah commanders have been killed in an Israeli air strike in southern Lebanon, the Israeli military claimed today, Thursday. Meanwhile, at least 14 people were killed in Israeli attacks in various areas of Lebanon last night, including five health workers.
One of the deceased is Ahmed Mustafa Al-Haj Ali. The Israeli military said he was responsible for launching thousands of rockets and anti-tank missiles at the northern Israeli city of Kiryat Shmona. Another commander killed in the attack was Muhammad Ali Hamdan. He is claimed to be responsible for missile attacks in northern Israel.
The Israeli military also said they carried out attacks on various arsenals in Beirut. Other military infrastructure in southern Lebanon was also attacked throughout the night. However, no immediate comment was available from Hezbollah on this matter.
Israeli aggression continued in Lebanon last night as well. Five people were killed in an attack on the city of Wardaniyeh. Twelve people were injured. Lebanon’s Civil Defense Department reports that five health workers were killed in an Israeli attack in the Tyre area. Four people were killed in the Baalbek region.
According to an AFP report, Israeli forces have expanded the scope of their ground offensive in Lebanon. They began attacking southwestern Lebanon on Tuesday. However, the soldiers claim that attacks are being carried out on a limited scale targeting specific areas of Hezbollah positions and installations.
Three days after Hassan Nasrallah was killed, Israeli forces entered through the country’s southern border on September 30 and began a ground offensive. Along with air strikes, Israeli forces have been engaged in frontal battles with Hezbollah fighters in Lebanon for more than a week.
