33 people, including 21 women, have been killed in an Israeli airstrike on a refugee camp near Jabalia in Gaza.
The casualties occurred during an overnight Israeli bombardment on the Tal al-Zatar refugee camp. According to a source from Al-Awda Hospital cited by AFP, they have documented the identities of 22 deceased individuals. Additionally, at least 70 people sustained injuries.
A spokesperson for Gaza’s Civil Defense Agency confirmed the death toll of 33 and reported numerous casualties.
When questioned about the incident, an Israeli military spokesperson stated that they are investigating the matter.
Israel commenced renewed military operations around Jabalia in northern Gaza since October 6th. They contend that Hamas militants are attempting to reconstitute their forces in the area. The region has witnessed numerous casualties due to Israeli strikes since then.
The UN humanitarian agency reported on Friday night that civilians in northern Gaza are facing an increasingly catastrophic and perilous situation. They are struggling to survive amidst the brutality of intense bombardment.
