Several Palestinians were killed and injured in an Israeli aerial bombardment on a multi-story residential edifice in Beit Lahia, northern Gaza. Medical personnel informed Reuters of the assault that occurred this Sunday.
The immediate death toll remained indeterminate. The Palestinian Civil Emergency Authority disclosed that approximately 70 residents were inhabiting the structure at the time of the attack.
No instantaneous response was procured from Israeli authorities regarding this incident.
Last month, the Israeli Defense Forces deployed armored vehicles to Beit Lahia and the adjacent municipalities of Beit Hanoun and Jabaliya. These tactical maneuvers were implemented to thwart Hamas attacks and preclude their potential reconsolidation. Israeli forces assert that their offensive operations in these three localities have resulted in the neutralization of hundreds of Hamas operatives. Local inhabitants report that Israeli forces have effectively isolated these areas from Gaza City.
Concurrently, an Israeli aerial strike on the central Gaza Strip’s Bureij refugee camp at dawn today resulted in at least 10 fatalities when a missile struck a residential dwelling. Medical personnel confirmed that the missile specifically targeted a single residence.
The conflict escalated after Hamas’s October 7, 2023, incursion into Israel, which resulted in approximately 1,200 casualties and the abduction of 250 hostages to Gaza. Israel maintains that numerous hostages remain in captivity. In retaliation, Israel initiated a comprehensive military campaign against the Gaza Strip on the same day. According to the Gaza Health Ministry’s statistics, Israeli operations have resulted in 43,799 fatalities thus far.
