“Israel has launched a series of attacks in Lebanon after Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu announced at the UN that attacks against Hezbollah would continue.”

Israeli media reports state that this attack targeted Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah at the organization’s headquarters in southern Beirut.

However, Hezbollah sources are telling various news agencies including AFP, Reuters, and local media in Lebanon and Iran that Nasrallah is alive and safe after the attack in the Dahieh suburb.

The BBC reports that Israel has not yet given any official statement about the target of this attack, and Hezbollah has not provided any official statement about Hassan Nasrallah’s current condition.

However, a senior Israeli official told CNN that it’s too early to say whether Friday’s attack targeting Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah was successful. We are waiting to know that.

Recently, Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah said in a televised speech against Israel,

“The explosion of pagers and walkie-talkies has crossed all limits.”

He said,

“This attack has gone beyond all laws, morality, and control. It could be called a declaration of war or a war crime.”

Meanwhile, at the UN General Assembly, Lebanon’s caretaker Prime Minister Najib Mikati said,

“The latest attacks in Beirut mean that Israel is not paying any attention to ceasefire efforts.”

A statement from his office said he would return to the country quickly and hold an emergency meeting.

Who is this Hassan Nasrallah, the Hezbollah leader

Shia leader Hassan Nasrallah has been leading Hezbollah since 1992. He has played a crucial role in establishing the organization as a political and military force.

Hassan Nasrallah also has close ties with Iran and its supreme leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.

Nasrallah has not appeared in public for several years. It is believed that he remains out of public view to avoid being assassinated by Israel.

Although not appearing in public, Nasrallah still holds considerable appeal to Hezbollah.
