55 people were killed and 156 injured in a single day yesterday, Tuesday, in an Israeli attack on Lebanon. This information was provided by Lebanon’s Ministry of Health.
The previous day, Monday, Lebanon’s Ministry of Health reported that 95 people were killed in a single day due to Israeli attacks. 172 people were injured that day.
Health Ministry officials report that more than 1,000 people have been killed in Lebanon during the two weeks of continuous attacks. More than 1 million people in the country have been displaced.
Meanwhile, in a statement yesterday, Israel’s military forces announced the start of a ground operation targeting “specific targets” in villages in southern Lebanon.
The statement said that air strikes were carried out on Hezbollah targets in villages along the southern border of Lebanon. Ground forces have also entered the area.
For two weeks, Israeli forces have been conducting intense attacks against Hezbollah in various parts of Lebanon, including the capital Beirut. Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah was killed in an attack south of Beirut last Friday.
