Newly elected US President Donald Trump has nominated Elise Stefanik as the United States Ambassador to the United Nations. If all goes according to plan, Stefanik, a Republican Congresswoman from New York, will serve as the US Ambassador to the UN during Trump’s next term.
US media outlets reported this news yesterday, Sunday.
In a statement to the New York Post, Trump said, “I am honored to nominate Congresswoman Elise Stefanik as the United States Ambassador to the United Nations in my upcoming administration. Elise is an incredibly strong, tough, and smart American, she’s a frontline warrior.”
Additionally, President-elect Donald Trump is appointing Tom Homan to handle the nation’s border responsibilities in his upcoming administration. Homan is known as a hardline anti-immigration official.
In a post on his social media platform Truth Social on Sunday, Trump wrote, “I am pleased to announce that former ICE Director and border enforcement stalwart Tom Homan is joining the Trump Administration to take charge of our national border.”
“I have known Tom Homan for a long time. There is no one better than him at conducting and controlling policing operations at our border,” Trump wrote.
