After the ceasefire with India took effect under US mediation, Pakistan has now opened its airspace for all types of aircraft. Meanwhile, the situation in Indian-controlled Kashmir is also gradually returning to normal. Shops are starting to open.
The Pakistan Airport Authority (PAA) states that the country’s airspace is now open. Pakistan’s media outlet Dawn has published this news.
A spokesperson for PAA said that all Pakistani airports have been opened for normal aircraft movement. However, Dawn’s report mentioned that it might take a little more time for aircraft movement in the country’s airspace to return completely to normal.
Meanwhile, the day after the ceasefire took effect, streets in Srinagar city in Indian-controlled Kashmir showed signs of relief from Sunday morning. Shops have begun to open. People are returning to their daily normal activities. However, many are saying they remain alert for any situation.
Mohammad Anas runs a grocery store in the Haidarpura area of Srinagar. He opened his shop after the ceasefire. He said, “We remain cautious. Because no one knows how long this ceasefire will last.”
Many people crowded in front of a bakery early today. Shakila Jan, standing in line to buy bread, said, “I am very happy about the news of the ceasefire. But there were still sounds of explosions last night. This has made me worried again.”
Shakila further said, “We don’t trust any country anymore. They can change their minds at any moment.”
“We all want peace. We want a normal life with dignity. We have nothing to do with politics,” added Shakila.
Yesterday evening on Saturday, Trump rather suddenly announced the news of the ceasefire. He stated, “India and Pakistan have agreed to implement an immediate ceasefire.”

The US President’s announcement was welcomed by India and Pakistan, especially by the administrations in Kashmir and border areas, politicians from both countries, and ordinary citizens.
However, loud explosion sounds were heard in Srinagar city last night. Omar Abdullah, Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir, posted this news on the social media platform X. India and Pakistan have blamed each other for “violating” the ceasefire.Retry
